Practice & Process

Casey Benac is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Waco, Texas as well as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of North Carolina. She has 13 years of experience working with adults and adolescents within private practice, non-profit organizations and other counseling environments. Casey works within a biological-psychological-social-spiritual framework, recognizing each of these elements impact our lives. She seeks to join with clients in exploring their relationships, significant events, and set specific goals tailored to the individual client in order to focus on those areas most important to him/her. Using an eclectic theoretical approach which heavily incorporates Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Client-Centered Therapy, Casey emphasizes evidenced-based practices in her work.

Training & Experience

Casey received her B.A. in Psychology from Texas A&M University in 2010 and her M.A. in Christian Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary-Charlotte in 2015. Casey has provided counseling in a variety of settings: pregnancy center, church office, mental health and substance abuse crisis center, and outpatient clinic. For the past seven years, Casey has worked with adults, couples and older adolescents in the private practice setting in Durham, North Carolina before moving to Waco, Texas where she continues to work virtually with North Carolina clients and now in-person with Texas residents as well. In each of these settings, Casey has worked with people of varied diagnoses and severity. From diagnoses including Bipolar Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, and Anxiety Disorder, to major life transitions, relationship difficulties and social skills, Casey has seen clients successfully manage and overcome many difficulties. Casey has also spent multiple years mentoring middle-school and high-school youth through YoungLife, a Christian non-profit organization.
